He is a blue-eyed soul singer whose fame and fortune came more as a result of his skill with the video than his musical ability. Always regarded as a skillful rock and R&B singer with a bias to the reggae sounds his records were not major best sellers. Yet, when he dressed himself as the lounge lizard on his videos of the mid-'80s suddenly he became a star. Here was a suave singer in a dapper white suit-and-tie backed by leggy models making him one of MTV's biggest success stories. This was his debut album from 1974, which he recorded with members of Little Feat and the Meters. It reached (US 107) in the States.

An official re-issue of the original CD by Island Records, it's an exact copy of the music from the original recording in CDO format and uses the same graphic for the cover. See www.thedisckiosk.com/cdo.htm for more details.
