Rick Parfitt (Status Quo) style Telecaster

New Part-caster Telecaster - Rick Parfitt style

I have built this guitar from parts sourced via e-bay & shops & have built it as a projects to look like Status Quo's Rick Parfitt’s 1960’s main guitar. It is a 2009 New “relic” style guitar.

Originally the body was a Tobacco sunburst as I wished to relic the guitar like Rick Parfitt’s with a darker colour underneath. (Rick’s was originally Blue). You will see from the pictures taken pre-rehearsals 2003, that he has several white guitars all customised to replicate the original Fender.

Any Quo purists will note some variances due to part unavailability or time so this is NOT an 100% accurate reproduction guitar, However, for 95% of the gig going public it looks like Rick’s Telecaster with Gold hardware

The sustain & tone is brilliant & I was very pleased to have this guitar turn out sounding so good like a proper vintage Tele.

Spec....

o        Neck - This is an Orange oil treated maple medium to thick “C” shaped neck. It is 21mm thick at the first fret & 24mm thick at the 12th fret.

o        Fretboard - Rosewood with 22 medium frets.

o        Scale length Nut to 22^nd fret = 465mm. The top 10 frets have been lightly stoned to give a buzz free action.

o        Action at 17th Fret Bottom E = 2.8mm top E = 1.8mm

o        Machine Heads = BRAND NEW bolt through style tuners

o        Body = Lightweight Solid body. I have had to drill 6 new holes through the body to fit the bridge I had purchased. This is obviously only visible from the rear. The body has been lacquered to give the White finish then 8 coats of clear lacquer.

o        Scratch plate - Brand new 3-ply black/white/black (I have left it non-worn-away look)

o        3 way switch - Brand new

o        Volume & tone pots - Brand new 250k “B type” & 250k “A type” respectively & a new capacitor.

o        Control Knobs - Gold vintage repro

o        Control panel - Gold “aged look” original

o        Bridge - New 6 saddle Gold  through body style.

o        Pick-Up - Neck - New Tonerider Vintage Gold cover.   

o        Pick-Up - Bridge - New Tonerider “Black”  These are amazing replacement pick ups that are half the price of a Seymour Duncan with a great Tele “Honk”

This guitar does not have a case but it will be thoroughly wrapped & recorded postage & hence postage rates.
