First Day Cover featuring Independence of Rhodesia on 11 November 1965 (formerly British Colony of Southern Rhodesia). Independence made Rhodesia a self-proclaimed dominion i.e. still part of the Commenwealth with Elizbeth II as head, but no longer a British colony. Rhodesia was governed by white settlers. Black majority rule only came later when the county became Zimbabwe. Envelope is sealed with nothing inside. Hand written address.
