Retro 1950's Large Woven Basket Hand/ Shopper/ Tote Bag!!

This is a lovely basket styled on the basket bags of the 1950's! It is very sturdy, and quite heavy, woven in a coiled design out of a natural straw, with multi-coloured raffia trims on the front, and is has intergral handles. It has a straw-hinged lid, which has a loop for closing, though the other part of the fastening is missing. It could perhaps be replaced by a large button or toggle. The interior is clean and unlined, though you could add a lining if you wish. The bag is in good condition, with just a few loose bits of straw which you may wish to tighten-up and secure! A fabulous bag, bang up-to-date in it's styling with years of use left in it!!  

This item is in excellent condition and has been difficult to date. It could be a genuine vintage ityem in excellent condition, or it could be a modern reproduction which is still so clean because it has had little use and is relatively new. It is however made in a Vintage style, so I have listed it as thus. 

The Basket measures approx 18" across at it's widest point, and is approx 13" high exclusive of the handles, and is 5 1/4" deep. Please note this is a heavy item, which is reflected in the postage charge!
