Regency Art Deco Walnut Parcel Gilt Dressing Table

Description:
This is a beautiful quality early 20th Century Regency inspired Art Deco period and design parcel gilt five drawer kneehole mirror back dressing table, of exceptionally good quality.  The dressing table stands on square taper walnut legs with a lovely snake / dragon scale gilt carved panel to the font of the legs with carved acanthus leaf decorations with beautiful burr walnut capitols to each leg at the front, and rising over this is the beautiful parcel gilt gesso inlay surrounding the main frame of the front of the dressing table.  Each of the drawers have burr walnut veneers cross-banded in walnut with herringbone cross-banding and original solid brass pierced dropper handles of Rococo / Medieval design with pierced back-plates with material backing with solid brass droppers.  Each of the drawers has solid oak linings with hand-cut dovetail joints, the drawer fronts are solid mahogany or walnut veneered in figured burr veneers.  The main frame of the dressing table is made from oak and veneered to the sides with figured walnut to the top with a lovelyl figured grain.  Rising over this is the parcel gilt decorated mirrored back with matched carved decorations of scales and floral designs with matched gesso work to the raised gallery back and matched gesso work surrounding the beautiful re-entrant corner mirror, with what appears to be its original plain glass.  Each of the square taper pilasters supporting the mirror frame is finish in with a carved gilded finial.  An exceptionally good dressing table, having no maker's name, but possibly by "Waring and Gillow" or "Lamb of Manchester".

The dressing table dates circa 1920s.

Condition:
The dressing table is in very nice condition, retaining its much of its original finish, showing some signs of the top surface having been re-finished at some period, but beautifully matched in colour to the piece. There are two small pieces of gilt gesso work on the crest rail, over the top left hand drawer and centre drawer missing, but these are only small pieces and would be relatively easy to have copied, but again the item has been left as original as possible.
