Connects your phone line to a Desktop or Laptop PC via the 3.5mm Line-In or Mic socket on your sound card. You can then record phone calls within Windows XP or Vista, using the supplied open-source Audacity software.

The adapter can either be connected at the BT wall socket or at the RJ10 curly cord on the phone itself. The lead from the breakout-box to the PC is 2 metres long. Extension leads are available from our shop.

Unlike the cheaper 'Phone-Recorder' items we & other eBay vendors sell, this device can be safely connected directly to a PC.  This device safely isolates the Phone's earth from the PC's : cheaper ones do not, and will damage your PC at some point (phone line carries a 40V AC voltage and your PC's motherboard works on 5V DC - they don't mix well).

This kit includes the latest version of Audacity (V1.3.7) - the best open-source PC recording application available. It can be set to record manually or automatically when you pickup the phone.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you use this adapter with a laptop via the Mic-In socket you will need to use Audacity to boost the recorded signal level (as Mic-In is lower than Line-In) - which we explain fully in our instructions.
