The Artist

Jay is a unique and adventurous artist. She graduated from Exeter Art College in 1997 having specialised in Design Arts. Jay returned to Cornwall, where she is maintaining her interest in the methods used within fine art and also design. It is this collaboration between art and design which makes Jay's pieces so upbeat and intriguing to the viewer. Inspiration may be lead by feelings and emotions, although these are also depicted by the world around us creating dialogue between the modern western world and the human need for calm, space and clarity.

Jay previously worked as a freelance illustrator; much of her work sold at various Galleries via publishing houses throughout the UK and Europe. Jay's Art is not separate from her life, rather a view from within. Rugged Cornish landscapes, the hustle and bustle of life, time, space, feelings and passion, are depicted throughout her work, creating abstract painting with a strong emphasis on colour texture and shape.
