The personalised printed 'nameplate' is glued to the cane and then 4 coats of flexible yacht varnish applied - multiple coats of yacht varnish does not crack when the cane is repeatedly flexed, unlike other types of varnish.
A varnished cane is more hygienic than a natural one because rattan will soak up anything it comes into contact with (paint, ink, etc) and is virtually impossible to clean. However, if requested, the cane can be supplied with just the 'nameplate' area varnished so that the 'nameplate' is fully protected.
Despatch will be about 5-7 days after payment as yacht varnish needs 24 hours between coats.
My canes are very flexible, durable and of high-quality.
Considerably more canes have been sold than my feedback reflects because many buyers wish to remain anonymous and so do not wish to give or receive feedback.
Naturally, these wishes are complied with and to avoid any possible misunderstanding in this respect, 'buyer' feedback is not left unless the 'buyer' first leaves 'seller' feedback.

schools up to the 1980s, and, amongst other things, is ideal for fancy dress, theatricals, or as a novelty lounge-wall decoration.

For authenticity, the cane is unvarnished, but, naturally, you could varnish it yourself if desired.

Rattan is a natural plant, so no individual cane is exactly like another. In particular, some dry even straighter than others - and some have what look like dirt-marks but are in fact markings on the rattan itself.
Nearly 50% of the rattan I receive is discarded because of meaningful blemishes - only the best parts are used.
The package can be despatched to any address - not just to the buyer's address.
The cost of postage/packing includes cardboard, parcel tape and time - the value of the stamp(s) that you see on the package isn't the full story!
