These are pieces of very high-purity native North American USA natural placer gold mined by me on the slopes of the Caballo Mountains along the Rio Grande River in South Central New Mexico. This is newly found gold that has never been in circulation so does not have any of the negative associations like most gold that has been in circulation. No one has ever fought for,or been hurt because of this gold except maybe my aching back :-)

I hand picked these exceptionally nice gold nuggets for their beauty and uniqueness. They are very clean and 100% natural. They have not been chemically cleaned or treated and have been kept submerged in water for long time storage. Each peice of this gold is unique in its form and no two are ever alike. Very rarely one may contain a minute amount of quartz or a trace of the original host material, this is like an identifying footprint.

I always list both and Troy & Avoirdupois Standard Weight measurements and I always include a couple of free flakes of gold with each nugget purchase to make up any possible differences from the use of a different type of scale than the one I use.

I have made a close up zoom photograph in order to show you the interesting detail and added an ordinary stick pin in the picture to give you an idea of their size. I take great care in photographing the gold nuggets but it is very difficult to achieve the exact color of the gold. By using the a standard green gold pan and natural lighting supplimented by flash, I feel that the photos presented here are a good representation of the actual gold you will receive if you win this auction. HOW & WHERE THE GOLD WAS FOUND:

All of the gold I am selling was collected by me using a gold pan, a drywasher or a metal detector so you are buying this New Mexico placer gold directly from the original prospector who found them. I've been gold prospecting for over 30 years and I'm selling some of this very rare and hard to find New Mexico placer gold on Ebay. All of this placer gold is from the New Mexico desert and mountain placers around the Caballo Mountains between Hatch and Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. HOW GOLD IS WEIGHED & GRADED:

The TROY standard is used for measuring the weight of gold worldwide. Purity of gold is measured in Karats, 24 karat being pure, or 12 karat being 50% gold combined with some other metal such as silver, copper or other metals. Gold is also rated in terms of fineness, 24 karat gold would be rated as 1000 fine.

An ancient unit which was originally based on the weight of a grain of wheat. The grain is the smallest unit of weight in the TROY, AVOIRDUPOIS (AUD), and APTHECARIES systems. Surprisingly it is identical in all three systems.
