Here we have a quite exceptional pair of provincial solid silver sugar tongs. They are 5.75 inches in length. This lovely pair of tongs is in superb order. The pattern is fiddle. This cracking piece is of exceptional quality and is a most impressive piece of Victorian silver. It is made in Exeter and dates to 1856-refer to image.Year letter u. Makers are makers James & Josiah Williams. It is a practical HEAVY GAUGE piece. It weighs a hefty 53 grams (1.70 troy ounces) This piece is in flawless condition with no damage and no repair. A truly beautiful,crisp and most wonderful HIGH QUALITY ANTIQUE piece of lovely silver. Would make a nice present perhaps? Exeter assay office closed in 1883.
