Rare Cased Silver 5 Piece TABLE SET 1935 Emil Viner

A rare 5 piece George V English sterling silver table set comprising sugar sifter, cream jug, salt & pepper pots, and mustard pot with spoon. Each piece has a square base with gently tapering sides, and all pieces except the mustard are of tall profile. The salt, pepper and sugar have pull off pierced covers with finials. Nothing is engraved or initialled, it has its own black and cream lined fitted case.

The salt, pepper and mustard have the additional duty mark to commemorate the Silver Jubillee of King George V and Queen Mary, and it was made in Sheffield in 1935 by Emil Viner, except for the replacement spoon which is Sheffield 1984 by CJ Vander.

At 5.9 inches / 15 cm tall (the sugar caster), combined weight is 11.7 Troy oz / 364gm of silver, 981gm with the case. Apart from wear commensurate with age, the condition is excellent, not a bump to be seen, with signs of very limited use. There are no glass liners, and a small amount of surface corrosion in the salt. The box is also very good, without the usual external scuffs, and performs exactly as it should.
