A Butcher's Minimum Cameo double extension plate camera for 9 x 12cm exposures made in around 1910. These cameras were made in Germany, most probably by Huttig, and imported into Britain by W. Butcher and Sons before the First World War. The camera is in excellent condition and working order.
Fitted with a R & J. Beck Isostigmar 4.75 inch f5.8 lens in a working pneumatic shutter with speeds from 1 second to 1/300th, B and T. All speeds work well although the slowest speeds are running slightly slow. The lens looks good with no fungus but some haze inside the rear element. The shutter casing is decoratively engraved and the chrome is in superb condition. The spirit level still has it's bubble and the viewfinder is clear. The double extension bellows are also in excellent condition and the folding and focussing mechanism works well. The viewing screen and hood are present. Also included are four plate carriers in a case, a rear cover panel and an original box for the camera..
A rare and beautiful early camera which displays well. Offered at a low starting price with no reserve.
