RARE BABBACOMBE POTTERY – EARLY PHILIP LAURESTON VASE

This little vase is stamped on the base “Babbacombe Pottery Hand Decorated by Philip Laureston England”.  The word “Roman” has been incised on the base. 

Philip Laureston is better known for miniature buildings and animal ornaments and his vases are quite difficult to find. 

The vase stands 3½” tall, measures 3” across the base and 1¾” across the top.  

It has a pale blue background decorated with sponged gilding. 

This unusual and collectable little vase has no cracks or restoration and is offered in very good condition.
