Rare ANTIQUE Silver SWEETMEAT BASKET Hallmarked 1909 NR

Gorham - Gorgeous Design - SuperCondition - Lovely Dish

This is a really stunning ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN solid sterling silver sweetmeat or bonbon basket or bowl which was made in Birmingham, England in 1909 by the illustrious silversmiths, Gorham Manufacturing at their Barr Street workshops. It has a beautiful circular design with a beaded border, has a lovely swing over handle and is raised on three elegant ball feet. It measures 3 1/4" in diameter and stands 1 5/8" high (2 3/4" high to the top of the handle). It is weighs 46.0 grams which is virtually 1 1/2 troy oz. It is NOT engraved.

It is in very good condition for its age with just the usual surface scratching, NO dints, NO dents and NO distortion and just a little compression to one foot - SUPERB. This beautiful piece is hallmarked with G.M.Co, anchor, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), k showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1909. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. This is a really super quality ANTIQUE piece after 100 years in a fantastic design - I'm afraid that my pictures do not really do it justice!!! Postage will be 4.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.

Please note that the primary postage costs are for second class (or standard parcels service if the postage cost is over 6.00GBP) within the UK or surface mail to international destinations. First class post usually adds 50% to the quoted postage cost while airmail is typically double the cost of surface mail. If you want to know about the timescales and charges by Royal Mail then I suggest you look at http://www.royalmail.com. The recommended last Airmail posting dates for Christmas are: Friday 04 December to South & Central America, Carribbean, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Far East (except Japan), Australia and New Zealand; Thursday 10 December for USA, Canada, Japan and Eastern Europe; and Friday 11 December for Westarn Europe. Packages posted after these dates may well arrive on time. I'll do my level best to get packages and items to you by Christmas. The recommended last UK posting dates are: Tuesday 15 December for Standard Parcels; Friday 18 December for Second Class; Monday 21 December for First Class and Wednesday 23 December for Special Delivery.
