A non-profit making service run by aero-modellers for aero-modellers
The plan offered is a high quality print and does not fade in strong sunlight like the traditional dye-line prints used by the majority on plan suppliers in the past Here is your chance to bid on a reprint of the building plans from the original, fighter jet style “Raider 26” that was kitted by Bowman Models. This 24” wingspan model was designed as a simple sport aerobatic fun model. The recommended engine range was 0.07 – 0,09cu in (0.75 - 1.5cc) two-stroke diesel or glow. (Plan shows PAW 80 – non-throttled). It would also make a good electric conversion (Good quality compact brushed, or brushless motor on 6-10cell Ni-Cad/Ni-Mh or 2-3s Li-Po) The model has basic aileron and elevator control. You could easily add throttle control if you wish. This is a very compact model, and it can cover ground quickly. As such, it is not suitable for beginners. You need to be a proficient aileron flier, and have had experience of fairly fast flying models if you wish to build and fly a ‘Raider 26’ THIS LISTING IS FOR A PLAN ONLY – YOU ARE NOT BIDDING FOR A KIT OR AN AIRFRAME This plan is of good quality with crisp black print on white paper on a large sheet (Approximately 25* x 31”). The fuselage has a simple all-sheet box structure. The four main formers are shown in full detail. The rearmost former is simply measured out (simple rectangle). All other detail is available from direct measurement of the fuselage elevation and plan views. The twin fins & horizontal stabiliser are simple all sheet structures. A sketch shows the splay of the twin fins. The wing is shown “full size”, as a one-piece unit that bolts to the fuselage. The rib detail and wing construction is shown in a simple sketch. Rib W2 is shown, and the remaining tapered ribs can easily be formed by direct measurement of the rib length and using W2 as a template and pivoting it from the top of the LE (rear edge) to the top of the (front edge) TE to get the top profile (Then use the same technique for the underside profile). The centre of gravity is clearly marked on the plan. The construction is straightforward and offers a great “fun” sport model to those that enjoy some traditional balsa bashing.
A copy of the building instructions is also included in this auction Treat yourself to a compact “jet-style” build project, and have the satisfaction of creating your own version of this ‘fun’ sport model at the fraction of the cost of a current ARTF, or kit. This plan allows you to build the ‘Raider 26’ at modest cost so that you can enjoy flying it ! …..& if the worst happens – it is also easy to repair, or rebuild from the plan. Bidding starts at £3.50. Overseas Postage will be £2.25 (Small Pcket Rate) for one plan, folded in large envelope |
