The IT5800 is a state of the art industrialised barcode scanner from worls leaders, Honeywell. Now sold as the modfel 3800i, it features long range, fast and super sensitive scanning with environmental sealing and resistance to low temperatures. It is in NEW AND BOXED condition, offered with manual, RS232 cable and power supply and 12 months warranty. HOW DOES IT WORK ? With a very bright linear image reading line scanning 270 times per second, the scanner has a fantastic and sensitive reading range, from very near to the target to up to about 24 inches away and beyond ! The scanner attaches to a standard male 9 pin RS232 serial COM port. Your software application may demand a RS232 scanner, but if not, don't worry so long as you have a COM port to connect to. The scanner works just like a keyboard wedge or USB scanner, but does not need a ps/2 keyboard or for that matter, a USB port ! Just attach the cable to the pc COM port and power up. Install the Metrologic 'Serial Wedge' utility (supplied) then scan a barcode. The characters from the barcode appear on screen at the current cursor position as if they had been typed in, so any application that will accept typed characters will work with this scanner !
