We are adding more and more items per week, and we are posting the start price in almost all cases with the VAT (17.5%) amount included, rather than on top of (added to) our normal prices, thus offering you the opportunity to save a considerable amount on your parts needs, whilst being secure in the knowledge of our 25 years' experience of the Rover V8 engine and all it involves, plus the considerable eBay status & reputation we already enjoy. We only sell parts that are truly required for the V8 engine, thus the prices are a reflection of the quality and appropriateness of them. We could sell low cost V8 parts of inferior quality, but we chose not to right from the beginning.

The ultimate Rover V8 Camshaft kit?
Here we are offering, the 'ultimate' camshaft kit. A brand new Piper upgrade Camshaft Kit, with all parts and gaskets needed for the upgrade included also.
This kit is suitable for all Rover V8 engines that have a distributor ignition, that's, TVRs, Morgans, MGs, Range Rover Classics, Land Rover Discovery Series 1's, Plus many many kit cars alike.
We do also have these kits available for none distributor type Rover V8 engines listed elsewhere.this would include series 2 Discovery, Land Rover 50 and P38 Range Rovers.
Which Camshaft best suits my needs?
Piper Torque Max.
Spot on camshaft profiling for 4wd (Land Rover, Range Rover) or heavier
saloon car applications with stock heads or beyond (Rover SD1, P5 &
P6 perhaps). This camshaft is targeting low-end torque, mid-range
power, falling short of Boy Racer level.
Piper RP4.
As with the Torque Max camshaft but for engines that have had further upgrades also, such as cylinder heads, exhaust etc.
Piper 270.
If you have accomplished some further head reworking at least to Stage
1 and or beyond. We found that it achieved power increases of up to
22bhp, with surprisingly healthy increases in usable torque too, most
noticeable under load and part throttle acceleration, as well as being
continuous under harder driving through to as much as 5500rpm (assumed
with engine correctly mapped and all other issues considered).
Piper 285.
The power curve is shifted upwards by approx. 800rpm, achieving a
possible 24-25bhp increase. With smaller capacity V8 (3.5) no torque
loss at low rpm is noticed, but still provides a large increase of
torque. Best used only with stage 1 or stage 3 heads as part of the upgrade along with ECU re-chipping etc.
Hydraulic tappets
Included also are a set of 16 Brand New Genuine Land Rover camshaft Followers/Lifters (Hydraulic Tappets) for the Rover V8 Engine of all Capacities.
We choose to use Genuine only as we have experienced a few 'issues' with the non genuine tappets available.
Gaskets
Included, are all the top quality gaskets which you will need to do this job, including:
Composite valley gasket and end seals.
Rocker cover gaskets.
Front timing cover gasket and seal.
Oil pump gasket.
Camshaft lube.
Camshaft to gear bolt.
Timing chain and gears
This kit contains a brand new (original equipment) standard style timing gear set and chain.
We are un-able to offer the JP timing gear set as it is not suitable for the serpentine style set up.
Will i struggle with emissions?
All RPi designed Piper Camshafts will give smog/MOT/TUV-free
emissions and smooth idle.
With Piper's profile reliability. Suitable
even for Californian style stringent emission requirements.
What additional upgrades are required for installation of these Camshafts?
None
of our Piper camshafts offered here, should require any
changing/upgrading of valve springs, nor any other essential upgrades
or machining at all.
However it is always worthwhile considering
the suitability of re-using any of your original engine parts that have
association to the camshaft area.
This and the following information/advice is also correct and appropriate for consideration even for std camshaft replacements.
Some further advice.
Never re-use your original tappets, and, we only use genuine replacements.
Timing chains are normally badly stretched and always needs replacing.
Push rods are cheap and also should be replaced if at all worn.
Rockers
and rocker shafts should be checked for wear underneath & signs of
breakages to rocker pads, again only genuine is a suitable option for
replacement.
Shim Kits are
available to check and set Tappet pre-load & are an essential
consideration for all Camshaft replacements or work involving valves or
rocker assemblies.

When you consider the construction type of this product and the need for appropriate safe packaging, together with the choice of delivery company, you will see that we will do all that is possible to ensure, that not only your package arrives on time but in great shape.
We could make delivery a smidgen cheaper, but no one would ever thank us if their purchase, no matter how heavy or fragile, arrived crushed, split, fragmented, late or even not at all. What's more, insured against any possible unfortunate event too. Thus our postage quotes represent far more than just the cheapest postage possible..
