ROLY POLYS is a collection of rotund little box figurines named after those famous for living large. These were made around 2000........
Carved by British sculptor Adam Binder, each piece is handcrafted in the English Cotswolds from crushed marble in the time-honored tradition of cottage industry manufacturing. A very few of these pieces were made solid instead of being a box. This is one of them.
'Garcia' is a finely detailed Lion who measures 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" ....or 5" round. He has a very detailed mane with his tail coming up from the bottom and resting in it along with one large 'paw'. This is a rare piece because it is solid instead of being a box and only a limited number of these were made.
He comes with original Roly Poly card and has only been removed from his box to be photographed.
