ROCKINGHAM MISSING PATTERN COFFEE CUP & SAUCER, c1835

A beautiful Rockingham coffee cup and saucer, dating to c1835.
The cup and saucer are basket weave moulded and decorated with a pattern which appears to be missing from the Rockingham pattern books, pattern 858.
Both cup and saucer are hand painted with superb sprays of summer flowers, the rims decorated with a narrow green leaf-like border. Marked with pattern number 858 in red to the base of the cup and in green to the base of the saucer.
They are in fair condition, the coffee cup having two hairline cracks of approximately 2.5 inches long, but being both on the same side, can be turned to the back and so hidden from view. The saucer has a chip and associated T-shaped crack, but again can be displayed so that this is not obvious.
Look lovely on display and a scarce opportunity to collect Rockingham pieces in such an unusual, rarely seen pattern.
