This is a rare opportunity to acquire an authenticated print of one of Robert Leslie Howey (1900-1981) fabulous marine paintings.
This print is number 6 out of only 250 produced and it comes with the certificate signed by his son. The print itself is signed in the bottom left hand corner.
The original painting was entitled, "The Swing Bridge at Whitby Harbour". The artist moved from pastels and watercolours and the use of the Lakes as his subject matter to oils and marine subjects in the 1970s which would suggest the approximate date for the painting. In his marine work, Howey tended to use the effect of white cumulus clouds reflected down on to the water - and this painting is no exception.
The print measures 22cms x 27cms with an added border surround and the width of the frame making approx 7cms each side.
I am happy to provide further pictures if required.
