I am selling my beloved Revox C270 Reel to reel tape recorder as it is one of a few machines in my collection in my house and is not being used that much and i think it should deserve more attention than i am giving it. I used it mainly in my house to do a few recordings on it and to enjoy using it, but as i have other tape machines like Studers and Sony and a few valve ones too, all in one room, it is understood that it did not get used so much. In the five or so years i had, if i used it a total of 20 hours, i would not be exaggerating. What is for sure is i took great care of it and recently aligned it too to my favourite LP tape Basf PER368....hardly any difference between input and output.

The machine comes with a number of features, too long to list here but it includes:#
Real Time counter, True Autolocator with Zero, Address and Search locate modes, varispeed, XLR inputs and Outputs, Microphone XLR inputs (needs optional plug in boards), Edit mode that allows one-hand cueing under full servo control, built-in RS232 serial port, External port for capstan motor control in sync allplications, Selectable library wind, tape Dump mode and others....

Audio Electronics include Dolby HX-PRO Headroom Extension, seamless and gapless punch-in and punch-out, Adjustable Mute-to-play time of audio output, 3 Peak LED indicators: +6, +9, +12, internal monitor speaker and headphone output with individual, stereo or mono channel selection, Transformer balanced inputs and outputs....etc

As you can see from one of the pictures the front of the machine lifts up easily to allow access to all audio electronics even while rack mounted, hence making it easy to align the machine.

The machine comes with no spools or nab adapters...i simply took some pictures with them for demonstration purposes, but these are easily available from ebay.

The heads shos some sign of wear but have HOURS and HOURS left of use on them. The last alignment i made on the machine showed an incredible frequency response throught the frequency spectrum on both speeds. It is aligned to BASF PER 368 tape but andy high output tape can be used on this machine for recording with this alignment.

I will include both a User manual and a service manual as pdf files on a cd for your reference.

I will post it via courier worldwide and i will list for now the cost of sending it within the UK. the machine will be packed very well.
I strongly recommend that the machine will be insured (again at buyer's cost) to cover the value of the machine in case anything happens during transit. This should not be much more than say £10 but it can be confirmed.

I accept paypal or a UK cheque, but if buyers want to collect i would be happy if cash is paid on collection.

This Revox was the last to be manufactured by Willi Studer and they are rare, so don't miss out on the opportunity to own it, especially as this machine comes from a home environment and has had very little use.

I have seen these going for around a £1000 recently so i am going to start at a relatively lower price.
