These have been tested on many dvds and work rather well. You can of course make your own one - there are plenty of sites which show you how to do it by connecting an infra red led to the serial port on your computer or pda. This does not enable you to play illegal copies - only to play legal dvds that you might have bought on holiday. This remote hack can be used on upto eight dvd players. Once hacked the dvd stays unlocked permanently. This remote is for UK / European machines only. If your machine will only play Region 2 it will play all regions 1,2,3,4,5 after hack. - If you live in America and have a USA Region 1 machine it is might be pointless hacking it as your machine does not have a pal encoder inside to play Region 2 discs. Some USA machines do hack fine but many don't. Only European / UK machines hack 100% of the time.
