Reginald
Campbell was a forestry official who worked as a teak inspector in Northern
Thailand in the 1920s and author of numerous novels concerning tigers, elephants,
and jungle life. This work was his own personal copy of his own account of his time as a forestry official, and includes the original negatives of 14 of the 15 photographic illustrations used in this book, a unique collection lacking only the negative of the frontispiece plate of the author.
