Reggie Johnson has won two World titles and three if you include the IBA title he amazingly won in February of 2008 after beginning his professional career way back in 1984! Johnson had lost only one fight up to June 1991 and had won both the USBA Middleweight title and the WBA Inter-Continental Middleweight title by the time he faced modern great James Toney for his IBF World Middleweight crown. He knocked iron jawed Toney down in the second round but went on to lose a narrow split decision. After winning his next fight by 2nd round KO he then won the WBA World Middleweight title with a close majority decision over 'The Celtic Warrior' Steve Collins. He made three successful defences including one over the unbeaten Lamar Parks before losing his belt to the unbeaten John David Jackson in Argentina. He then lost two split decisions against Jorge Castro for his old WBA World Middleweight title both fights happening in Argentina before he stepped up to the Light-Heavyweight and beat the undefeated World IBF Champion William Guthrie by KO in the 5th round. So bad was the knockout that Guthrie left the ring on a stretcher. He made two successful defences before losing a unification bout against the great Roy Jones Jr on points. He then won the USBA and the NABF Light-Heavyweight titles before losing to Antonio Tarver. After this loss in 2002 Johnson announced his retirement but returned to the ring in 2005 with a 9th round KO victory over Fred Moore then was out of action until his fantastic win for the IBA World Light-Heavyweight title in February 2008.
