REA "SIERRA" PENNSYLVANIA PASSENGER CAR (PRR) 31001 LGB

Aristo-craft REA 31001 Sierra Pennsylvania Passenger Car in Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) livery.

This superbly crafted Sierra Passenger Car was released by Aristo-craft under their REA Series in the distinctive livery of the Pennsylvania Railroad livery. This exquisitely detailed car is one of the most technologically advanced scale models ever produced and is much sought after by collectors..

This is the De Luxe Version which comes elaborately finished with all the special decorative and working features ( including a smoking potbelly stove for those colder days, fully sprung trucks, operating wall lamps, etc.) together with ornamental filigree brass railings, working doors and colourful paint scheme. This car also features a full partitioned interior, seats, working lights, toilet, and a removable roof so you can show off the details inside.

Would make a fine addition to any line and the accompanying photos do not really do it justice.

The coach is based on an actual prototype with historical modifications. Originally constructed just prior to the turn of the 19th Century these cars remained in interstate use as the flagship coaches until 1929 and some even remain in service on intrastate and private use on heritage lines to this day.

The model is new and whilst it appears to have been kept in storage for a while (the outer box has a small stain) the car still appears to be in  mint condition  with accessories, alternative couplings, and stove pipe still in their polythene bags.

PROTOTYPE HISTORY

The Sierra Passenger Car is based upon an "old time / wooden" Passenger Car of the late 1800’s. Actual prototypes examples of this type Passenger Car were used by the Sierra Railroad Co. of California and featured in many Hollywood "Western" movies.

4. DIRECT BANK TRANSFER - Payment by electronic means is convenient and preferable so if you are able to make such payments let me know and I will advise you of the relevant account details.

5. OVERSEAS - For bidders from outside the UK I can only accept Paypal in Pounds Sterling only.

6. SHIPPING - Most items can be shipped worldwide. Courier rates are normally for Mainland UK and some EU countries (e.g. France, Germany & Ireland).Please email me first to check on shipping costs for Highlands & Islands in the UK and other European destinations if they have not been included in the item description as shipping costs may be higher. All items that are shipped both inside and outside the UK can normally be insured and the cost is either included in the P & P amount quoted. or will be an option at a flat fee of £8 (what the Courier charges me). Overseas bidders should also contact me (johnprescott@talk21.com) if you require special insurance.

7. POSTAGE - It is our aim to despatch all items within 48 hours of the payment having being received and cleared. (Please be aware that cheques may sometimes take over 5 working days to clear). PLEASE ALLOW 7 WORKING DAYS TO RECEIVE YOUR ITEMS as mail often takes longer than the published Royal Mail targets. All items are shipped Second Class in the UK to save the buyer postal charges unless otherwise stated. It may be necessary to use the Standard Parcels service for heavier items. Royal Mail aim to deliver by the third working day after posting. PLEASE ADD £1.10 FOR RECORDED "SIGNED FOR" DELIVERY IF REQUIRED. If you do require earlier delivery please e-mail me and I will advise additional cost for either First Class postage (target delivery the next working day) or Special Delivery (normally >24 hours). If you do not receive your item within 14 working days after sending payment, please contact me as soon as possible.
