A pair of antique Tuareg pendants (tenalit) from the region of Zinder, in Niger.

These were hand cast at a desert forge from silver, or silver alloy.

Small tenalit like these were sometimes worn in the hair, and were used as a form of money.

Clear signs of rubbing and wear.

5.8 and 6.5 grams.

35 x 16 mm. each.
