RARE PROFESSIONAL ELECTRIC GUITAR ‘Virgin Records’ ‘Mike Oldfield’

Mike Oldfield professional electric guitar, in solid Mahogany.

Provenance-

Custom built in Germany as gift from Virgin Records (Germany) to Mike Oldfield (probably round 1985) with his name engraved “MIKE OLDFIELD” on the finger plate.

On reverse of guitar, steel plaque with engraved words “To Mike from all your friends from Virgin Germany” commemorating the event.  There is also the ‘tubular bells’ logo at top of fretboard

Full length fretboard (24 frets), Guitar and fretboard professionally cleaned with new set of No. 9 strings set at optimum height.

Single Amp Pick-up (Make "Shadow") with small built-in amplifier powered by standard ‘PP3’ 9 volt battery installed in base of guitar, which allows it to be played on its own, with 2 Tone (Natural or Pure) or Raunchy for Rock playing, and Volume controls.

When played through external amp for optimum sound, produces absolutely professional tone and volume.

This guitar is smaller than standard, see photos, 8 inches wide at base and shorter in total length than average Guitars, at 36 inches approx in length, and is light in weight so would be very suitable for small child learner, or to be used by professional as a guitar which could be carried around easily, including outdoors.

The condition of this Guitar is generally very good, and clean, with just a couple of the minor ‘dings’ in the varnish (mainly back and upper edge), which can be seen within the photographs. A soft case is included but is NOT the original.
