"Scooby Doo, Where Are You?" launched it's original premiere episode, A Clue For Scooby Doo, in September of 1969. Scooby-Doo was originally broadcast on CBS until 1976, when it moved to ABC. ABC aired the show until canceling it in 1986. Several spin-offs have evolved in the years since including , A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, What's New, Scooby-Doo?, and the current Scooby-Doo series, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! Repeats of the original series, as well as second-run episodes of What's New, Scooby-Doo?, are broadcast frequently on the Cartoon Network in the US and other countries. Two Big Screen Movies were even released which enjoyed huge successes in theaters!
The original motley cast starred a 7 year old Great Dane named Scoobert (Better Known as Scooby Doo!). The teenage gang that hung out with him included 17 year old Freddy Jones (The Leader), 17 year old Norville Rogers (Scooby's Best Friend, Shaggy), 16 year old Daphne Blake (The Dingy, Beautiful One) and 15 year old Velma Dinkley (The Smart One). The show revolved around the antics of always hungry Shaggy & Scooby, accident prone Daphne, and Freddy & Thelma's botched schemes. Somehow the gang drove around in the their psychedelic van, "The Mystery Machine", and always seemed to find themselves involved in a mystery which was eventually solved and the criminals arrested! The gang never seemed to notice the oddity of a talking dog who ended every episode with his catch phrase, "Rooby, Dooby, Dooooooo!"
This set includes a wonderful picture of Scooby and Shaggy dancing, a hysterical picture of the gang's attempt at washing the Mystery Machine, a classic picture of Freddy, Daphne, Thelma and of course, Shaggy & Scooby, dressed in their classic garb, driving down a spooky road in the Mystery Machine and a biography sheet on Scooby & the Gang. This is a must have for the Scooby Collector and would make a special gift for the Scooby Dooby Doo fan!
