Above is the set that's in this auction, Below is the picture from
page 1 of the instructions for 1589. The whole point was to make the
set LOOK as good as the full original...not bad!

This
auction is for a nearly complete Lego Town Square Weetabix Promo
1589. The set is built EXACTLY piece by piece to the instructions
from Peeron.com. I had the pieces and I love these old town stes.
I've only built it twice (the same as now, authentic time period
pieces and reproduction stickers. I don't know if I should call it a
"copy" or "reproduction" or what. The stickers
are ALL very good quality reproductions, the stickers on the minifigs
were done profesonaly, just look at the pics. The policeman is a Lego
Original sticker minifig that is slightly different than the one in
the origianl set. The pieces are in VERY good or BETTER used and new
condition (but all from the same era). My plan was to get it to LOOK
as good as possible and as close to the original as possible. The
only exception to the pieces used: The 2 black window frames replaced
with white, the two white window panes replaced with black (to even
out the color scheme), the slopes on the little blue building awning
are red with printed white stripes (not stickers), and the 3 signs.
All three were originally "do not enter signs" but I put
stickers on them to better match the set (see lower pic).
True,
not exactly a set for the Lego Purist. But if you've always wanted
this rare set but couldn't afford it, here's your chance to get a
great looking one for a fraction of the cost! Oh course there are NO
BOX or INSTRUCTIONS but like I said, it was built exactly to the
plans on Peeron.com. Just look at the pictures and judge for
yourself. I even replaced the baseplates with the best condition ones
I had, they are in VERY good condition.
