SET 8 PEWTER SHAKESPEAREAN FIGURINES - RSC - 116/500
This is a remarkable limited edition set of hand painted pewter Shakespearean figurines. Each of the figures is accompanied by a Certificate of authenticity showing that each one is number 116 of a limited edition of 500 (there were also 1500 made in antiqued pewter and a further 50 in Sterling silver).

We have included a large number of photos which may be slow to load and some delay in their display could be expected.

They were made for the Royal Shakespeare Company of Stratford-Upon-Avon, England, by 'Stratford Pewter Crafts'. The certificates are all hand signed and dated between 12th March 1985 and 30th October 1986.

The total weight of the set is 1075g or 38ozs. They will be sent out by Special Delivery (UK) or International Signed For - which includes insurance to Europe & the rest of the world. The average height of the figures is 90mm or 3.5".

Using the first photo below, I believe the characters are - from left to right back row:

King Lear
Richard III
Shylock
Henry V
Puck

From left to right front row:

Lady Macbeth
Hamlet
Falstaff

As can be seen in the photos, they are being sold in uncleaned condition and would benefit from dust removal. All are in excellent condition with only the occasional tiny fleck of paint loss. I can see no chips, breaks or dents but Henry's sword does have a light kink near the tip - it may have been made that way for authenticity! As can be seen the pewter marks are visible on the bases in all except Lady Macbeth where it appears they forgot to cut the appropriate holes in the green baize.
