WHAT A GREAT EARLY GEORGE III SOUP LADLE!! Here we have a quite exceptional solid silver bottom marked soup ladle.Hallmarks are deep and clear. It is assayed in London,year letter d for 1779.And by maker IL. What a delightful piece! This lovely ladle is of exceptional quality and is a most wondrous piece of table silver. Weight of actual silver is a good 151 grams (4.86 troy ounces),this piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. Ladle is very large at 12.75 inches in length. The condition is excellent. It is of quite superb quality and condition. A VERY RARE FIND. It is engraved to the front with initials and always has been,definitely no erasures either. The pattern is old english and i simply love the shell/scalloped bowl. Please note that i have listed many other good silver pieces too. A truly beautiful and most wonderful ANTIQUE GEORGIAN LADLE.
