Description: You are bidding for a stunning Pratt Ware pot lid named ‘The Bear Pit’. The pot lid is flat top and decorated with a polychrome picture depicting a bear on a pole with a man chastising the bear with a stick making it perform. You will also notice that this doesn’t have the dome over the Ostrich cage and where some with out the dome show the boy nearest you with a white coat the boy in this design actually has a red coat. I believe this pot lid is number 6.

I found the following description of this lid on a very good collectors website were he writes

Unrecorded on ware, this pot-lid was produced originally at the Pratt factory c.1850, with many reissues at later dates. There are a considerable number of variations of this lid, the main one being with or without a dome over the ostrich's cage. The copper plates are still in existence, which show the dome over the cage and also a fancy border; obviously, these were altered, probably due to excessive wear.

The detail is very good and the colours are bright and is a absolute must for any pot lid collector. Especially in the condition shown

This is a good stunning item that would certainly compliment any collection or would make a beautiful gift especially with Christmas around the corner.

Postage

We buy all our packaging, the p&p will include the cost of (boxes, polychips, tape & other) we don't make money on postage sometimes we estimate incorrectly, if the postage is more than the actual cost we will pay the difference.
If the postage is less, then the difference no matter how much will be donated to the NSPCC if on receipt of your item you wish to be credited the difference then please email within 7 days ( this is only applicable on amounts over £2)
It is the responsibility of the delivery company to deliver your items. We are not responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit and all claims must be made against the delivery company used. We however want you to receive your item in the condition it was sold, if any item is lost or damaged in transit please notify us with pictures within 7 days and we will investigate the matter fully and take the relevant action.
Ireland, Postage to Ireland is not the same as mainland UK, parcelforce charge us extra for going over water usually no more than an extra £10 to the quoted UK postage charge. smaller items sent to Ireland by Royal Mail first class is the same as UK mainland stated. Delivery (larger items)

Anything and everything can be delivered the main obstacle is cost. We have a network of delivery agents who frequently deliver up and down the country, the prices for mainland UK are between £70 - £100 depending on distance and location. We can also have the item delivered to the overseas but this can be expensive, please find the estimated price before bidding. We believe there should be nothing stopping you from bidding
Hand delivered costs are paid to the driver as we make no money on this service we don't want the paperwork.
Payment for hand delivered items must have cleared before delivery there is no cash on delivery service

Non payment WILL be acted on as your bid is final and forms a contract in accordance with ebay and British law.
