. SEATED ISIS and the Infant HORUS New Kingdom, 1300-1100 B.C. We are pleased to offer this lovely Ancient Egyptian Limestone Figural Group Isis & Horus or perhaps a royal portrait. This exceptional sculpture is beautifully carved in limestone and features remaining black, red and pink painted details. Isis is depicted seated on her throne with Horus straddling across her lap with his legs hanging over her left side. In this rare image Isis is fully clothed and not baring her breast for feeding. One of her hand is positioned across the lap of Horus and the other supports/holds his back. Her face is beautifully detailed with eyes defined in black. She wears a long lappet wig with a long separate tress running down the back. Her long garment features a finely detailed wide collar of three registers in red and pink. Similarly, Horus features large collar of pink with a dotted black border. His hair is arranged with the sidelock of youth with much remaining black pigment. Red defines his arms and legs.
