A rare DA steel rod wing armchair orginally designed by Ernest Race for Race Furniture Ltd, England in 1946. This turned wooden leg version has been in the same family since it's purchase in 1949.

The welded steel frame and coil sprung seat developed by Race gave his chair designs a more contemporary delicate shape and lightness.

This chair is in very good condition with no damage to the frame. I believe it was reupholstered in the 1980s and although the material is not worn it is a bit grubby in places.

The chair measures approximately 95cm high x 70cm wide x 80cm deep, 47cm floor to seat.

A British mid-century modern classic!
