This is a set of four superb antique 19th century panels for a processional canopy.
It is rare today to find a complete set, of such quality, and in such good condition!
Each panel is made of wine red silk velvet, and is decorated with a lovely wide metallic gold trim with a design of grapes and vine leaves, and an exceptionally long and thick gold metal wire fringe.
Each panel has a different motif, these are padded and covered with gold and silver metal wire, and decorated with sequins.
Condition: Overall very good, there are just a few loose or missing sequins, which could easily be rectified.
Each panel is 15 inches wide, including the fringe.
Two panels measure 50 inches long, the other two measure 70 inches long.
