A very early whisky flagon from circa 1780, in mint condition but has some crudity a few very small glazing bubble bursts nothing that detracts in my opinion just adds to the charm of this early hand made flagon .
Kilburn Manufacture Burton in Lonsdale this is impressed to back shoulder so a rare pottery name, pottery was produced in this North yorkshire village from 1650-1944 in a total of 13 potteries but only one potter marked his products, and it is the first item i have had with this pottery name impressed,in early days this village was called Black Burton because of the amount of smoke produced from their firing kilns,it is now a quiet village situated between two national parks.
