QUEEN VICTORIA DIAMOND JUBILEE HEAD MOUNTED ON AN OAK OVAL

This imposing wall plaque depicts the left profile of Queen Victoria and is mounted on a very sturdy oval shaped Oak back plate.  It was made to commemorate the 60th anniversary (1897) of her ascending the throne, is made of cast iron, measures nearly 14½” (36.5cm) by 10½” (26.5cm), and weighs just under 2.25 kilos.  The head is fixed to the back plate by two bolts, and is hung by cord from two screw eyes.  It is finished in dark brown and there are several small paint chips, which can be clearly seen on the photo, caused by wear and tear over the years.  Other than this, there are no apparent cracks or restoration.
