Queen Anne Revival Burr Walnut Silver Dislpay Cabinet

Description:
This is a fine quality, hand-made early 20th Century, figured and burr walnut Queen Anne Revival scroll leg and bun footed six drawer arched glazed display / silver cabinet.  The cabinet stands on turned bun feet, having splay legs to the rear, with a lovely shaped frieze rail below with a chevron style curve to the front, having crinoline stile stretchers joining the front and rear legs, with a plain rear stretcher.  Rising over this are carved and scrolled legs with decorative reeded or fluting to the fronts of the legs, having carved scrolls to the sides with fine detailing.  Rising over are the figured walnut cross-banded canted pilasters with a lovely figured walnut frieze and six figured and burr walnut veneered drawers, with original turned ebonised handles.  the drawers have hand-cut dovetail joints, with solid mahogany linings and drawer bottoms, with beautiful veneered fronts with a decorative waisted and canted moulding to the centre, rising above which is the sixteen panelled serpentine arched topped door, with two fitted shelves behind, with canted cross-banded corners to the doors and a lovely chamfered top edge having cross-banding in walnut to the door frame.  The cabinet has demi-lune rounded glazing bars, each glazed panel being a separate piece of glass.  There is a lovely arch to the top with figured walnut veneers along the crest of the cabinet.  There are two fitted glass shelves behind the cabinet, one being original and one a later fitment.  The cabinet comes complete with its original working lock and key to the cabinet section.  An exceptionally good quality piece of hand-made furniture.

The cabinet dates circa 1920s.

Condition:
The cabinet is in very nice condition for its age, retaining good colour and patination.  The ebonised handles are in good condition for their age, with only minor wear
