I am selling Quantum Electronics 201 power amplifier and 102 pre-amp.
The power amp is in working order.
The sound of this amp is very good, very clear. I read somewhere that somebody has compared it to a NAIM amplifier.
Originally built in 1980 by Quantum Electronics of Leicester, UK.
The pre amp is not in working order. It looks ok inside; nothing has been burned out.
But when you power it up it only provides sound after you turn the volume knob to '2 oclock'.
So this auction is really for the power amp. The pre amp is just a bonus.
Cosmetically, both units are in really rather good condition despite the fact that the covers are made from plastic glass.
They look as though they were made for an exhibition as you can see everything inside.
They have a DIN connection but it won't be a difficult job to convert this connection to RCA.
You only need five pounds for a 2 RCA connectors, a drill and basic soldering skills.
