New Original Design by Kevin Prochaska, Glass artist at Disneyland for more than 10 years.
It is such a delightful experience to see a mother quail shepherding her miniature offspring around the barnyard. To watch them scurry about is to witness an erratic yet purposeful procession as they follow their leader. Watching from the window of his studio, the artist is often treated to this wonderful parade and wanted to recreate it in a simple yet unmistakable manor. The unique silhouette of this family is well defined by these three pump figurines sporting oversize crown feathers. The use of 24K gold further emphasizes each quail’s features and also creates the vivid rainbow of colors. This application of pure gold to molten glass has been perfected by Prochaska Galleries and represents a colorful new dimension in glass sculpture. As photographed, the family is about 4.5 inches long with each of the two baby quail measuring about 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches and the mother quail measuring 2 inches by 2 inches. All are made entirely of hand blown borosilicate crystal. Quail family makes a wonderful gift. Your purchase includes an attractive information card trimmed with gold foil. Safe Shipping Guarantee
Safe arrival and your complete satisfaction are always guaranteed. Extraordinary care is taken to insure the safe arrival of your blown glass figurine. We use a three-step process that has resulted in the safe shipment of thousands of Prochaska Galleries sculptures over the past 30 years.
Step 1: As it is being made, the glass blower takes special care to reinforce all stress points to help protect against shock damage. Additionally all natural stresses are removed from the glass by a high temperature tempering process called annealing.
Step 2: After the figurine is removed from our annealing oven it is thoroughly inspected by the artist who makes certain that all internal stresses have been removed from the glass and that its surfaces have been properly vitrified.
Step 3: Finally, it’s time for careful packaging in not one, but two cartons. Both are filled with shock absorption materials. The sculpture itself is firmly held in place inside the internal carton so as to prevent movement. Loose fill between the two cartons guards against shock and the external box protects against obvious damage.
