Qercus 291: the redesign issue

What you hold in your hand should both inspire and surprise you in many ways. Qercus has evolved; taking with it the best elements of the wider market for computer magazines. We shall be taking you further into your computer; with our regular step-by-step tutorials showing how even a complete beginner can make the most of their machine.

The style of the magazine has been adapted a little. The aim is to bring a slightly more modern feel to the magazine (which in its present design is very much tied to the origins of Acorn Publisher) yet still have it appealing to the audience from Acorn Publisher.

From the next issue, a regular inspirational design feature will occur; covering anything from print to web design; or icon design for those looking to program.

The usual features remain; but we will be taking the opportunity to look at RISC OS in the wider sense of the word. Our cover feature on photography is one such example: the end product will always, via JPEG, be available to RISC OS and there is much to be said about getting the best possible image to begin with.

Welcome to a new era for Qercus. We very much hope you’ll be along for the full ride as; over the coming years; the magazine grows to suit the current needs of its audience.
