QUEEN ELIZABETH "SILVER JUBILEE" SILVER THIMBLE, BOXED.

Commemorative Sterling Silver thimble, marking the "SILVER JUBILEE" of Queen Elizabeth ll., together with it's original retail box. The thimble was made by, JAMES SWANN &SON. BIRMINGHAM. The thimble is in mint condition. The Hallmark reads as follows. J.S&S. LEOPARDS HEAD., the assay office mark for London. LION PASSANT, indicating English Sterling Silver. Upper register fine line C., the date letter for 1977. QUEEN'S HEAD. The lower base band carries the Hallmarks, and the wording, "SILVER JUBILEE" The casing has a background pattern consisting of minute National flowers, such as the tudor rose, thistle, shamrock etc. It carries two large dates, 1952 - 1977. In between is the Royal Crown, under which is E ll R. The top of the thimble is covered in the classic Honeycombe design. It measures 26. mm. tall, with a base diameter of 17. mm. It weighs in at a massive 15.9 grams of solid English Sterling Silver.
