This is a QT Ultralight racing Land Rover built by Dave Marsh of QT.
It is a full spec machine and was rallied in national level competition in 2004/2005. The rollcage is the Ultralight version as opposed to the standard one, it has stainless brush guards. The chassis is immaculate and has discovery coil front suspension (the full setup with the trailing arms etc.) fitted on both the front and rear axles giving more flexibility and control. There are twin shocks at each corner with the QT mounts. The axles have 4 pin diffs and hardened shafts, Ashcroft I think but don't know for sure. Wheels are the steel discovery type, which are supposed to be the strongest land rover make, with diamond back road legal tyres.
The engine is a 4.6 V8 out of a newish range rover running on twin SU carbs, with the strong 4 speed manual gearbox from an earlier range rover, hi and low range and diff lock. There are twin Luminition ignition packs, two coils, two fuel pumps in proper racing standard giving a back up. K&N air filters, new HT leads, rotor cap and distributor arm. The radiator has two electric cooling fans, controlled from the switch box in front of the passenger, one of which vibrates more than normal, I have found that only one fan is needed to keep it cool when stationary, and when driving the natural air flow is sufficient. The starter motor turns it over fine when cold, but is sluggish when its hot, it has always started though. It has a leisure dual service (deep cycle and starting) battery which is about a year old now. The fuel tank is another QT item sitting behind the cab under the rear deck.
As it was built in House by QT is has little special touches that the build your own kit didn't include, for example an aluminium cover over the wiring at the top of the cab, and the knowledge that it was built by professionals in a full workshop to full rally spec.
All the bodywork is aluminium and done in landrover style, the front wings are cut backs leaving no place for lights, I have fitted rubber kit car type on the front bumper for the MOT. The V5 is in my name and I will put a full MOT and Tax on it inclusive in the final price as I am confident it will go straight through as it did last year. It has bucket seats with full 'luke' harnesses, the seats are removeable by pulling two pins, in case it was necessary to get an injured driver or passenger out on the vehicle without dragging them out of the seats.
I have hardly used it and don't really want to sell it as I've never driven anything that is as much fun before! The reason for sale is due to needing a Unimog so I'm selling several toys. Also available with the QT by discussion with winning bidder is a set of 5 black range rover 3 spoke alloys with 4 good 235 85 16 Colway Mud terrain like BFG MT pattern.
The pictures show a good deal more about it than is easy to describe, viewing is recommended to appreciate it. If there's any questions please use the 'Ask seller a question' button and I'll get back to you. We're near Great Torrington, North Devon for viewing and collection.
Payment by Cash on collection or cleared cheque. I can't accept Paypal on this due to the value. If someone was to want to Buy it Now I could put this option on for them, would need to be a sensible offer though.
