QCA FRENCH UNIT 1: MOI (All about me)

These resources contain all you need to teach the QCA unit of work.
All the resources are PowerPoints, (unless stated) with recorded French phrases words, and letter sounds. They closely follow the different sections in the unit, and are ideal for the non-French speaker, as all phrases are both written, and oral. The PowerPoints contain links to relevant online activities.
SECTION 1: LANGUAGES WE SPEAK
Languages we speak: This PowerPoint introduces different languages, and where they are spoken. It introduces saying hello, how are you and goodbye in French. It also demonstrates how to pronounce ‘j’ and ‘u’
SECTION 2: LANGUAGE PORTRAIT
Language Portrait: Recaps saying hello and how are you in French; Demonstrates how to pronounce ‘on’; includes the song ‘Sur le pont d’Avignon’ with sound and lyrics; Introduces Monsieur and Madame.
Language Portrait worksheet: pdf to print out for the end of section activity.
SECTION 3: NAMES
Names: Links to online name activity, matching names game, and names song; demonstrates pronunciation of the 5 vowels; Interactive activity where the children have to guess which French name is being spoken; Introduces asking someone’s name, and how to reply.
SECTION 4: FAMILIES
La famille Simpson: Recaps ‘Comment tu t’appelles?’ and ‘Je m’appelle …’ ; Introduces the Simpson family, and family relations ; Interactive game where the children have to guess Lisa’s family relation from the spoken French word.
SECTION 5: NUMBERS TO 10
Numbers to 10: Slideshow of all the numbers to 10
Montrez-moi: The show me game – children listen to the number, show the related number, then see if they were right.
Répétez si c’est vrai: Game where the children have to listen to a number, and repeat it if it is the same as the one shown on screen.

SECTION 6: HOW OLD ARE YOU?
How old are you: The children have to listen to the spoken phrase and guess at what it could mean. They can then listen to responses, and choose which one is right for them.

These files will run on any PC with Adobe and PowerPoint installed. Most files are made with the latest version of Smartboard software, which you can download from the website: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Support/Downloads/default.htm
All the above files are made by myself, and are not downloadable for free on the internet, as some other resources for sale on Ebay may be.
