The only trace I've found of this book is on 'Google books' where the author's full name is given as William James McBride and the published date 1934.
I t seems to be aimed at the general public, rather than as a scientific text, as the tone is conversational rather than analytical. While dated in parts, other views are similar to advice given today.
For example on 'Tantrums'......" punishment in all such instances is futile and only aggravates the situation, to say nothing of the harm that may be done to the mind.....the cause of the nerve storm must be laid bare...". The author goes on to give hints as provided by 'Dr Adler' to quietly and lightheartedly diffuse the situation. [presumably Alfred Adler who developed Adlerian Individual Psychology]
McBride also uses lots of quotes to introduce the chapters, helpful in tracing the development of psychological theories.
I've reproduced contents page - chapter's include Shyness, Stammering, Aggression and 'Morbid interests'. In good overall condition for age, a bit of brown spotting and a couple of pencil marks. 132 pages published by the Regent Press, London.
I'm having to reduce my book hoard at the moment and I have other psychology, philosophy, religious and science books for sale. Please ask me if you have any questions.
