GIFT IDEA: Great fun gift. Can be reused hundreds of times. Make a set for friends or gifts for that special occassion and make one for yourself. To cast 32 pieces (a complete chess set) you need 20 ingots (bars) of metal approximately. We have special discounts available. Read about them in green section below.

What we mean by 54mm Scale: It means that an average human figure measures 54mm standing up straight. Hats, weapons, flags or unusual poses will mean the individual figures may measure more or less than 54mm in height.

Come now to the ancient forest of Sherwood, beneath the oaks older than history. Robin hood, Maid Marrion, Friar Tuck & the Merry Men sit laughing. Robin is hatching another bold plan to rob the rich to feed the poor. Beyond the greenwood, in his stone keep, sits Robin’s arch enemy the Sheriff of Nottingham, backed by the forces of Church and State, plotting the downfall of the outlaws. Share in this archetypal drama as your game unfolds.

BRIEF HISTORY: The 1226 court records tell of a man named Robert Hod who was seized by the Sheriff of York. This Sheriff later became the Sheriff of Nottingham. The court rolls of Wakefield, England, in 1316 and 1317, record Robert Hood and his wife Mathilda. This has been also speculated as the original Robin Hood. The poem "A Gest of Robyn Hode" was printed sometime around 1510, which tell many of the aventures in the modern tale. We will never know which are the true facts, however it is the spirit of freedom and independence that has endeared him to many generations.

CASTING GUIDE: (requires casting equipment & metal not included but available in my ebay shop)
1. Apply release powder to both mould halves evenly.
2. Gently clap the moulds together to remove excess powder.
3. Add the two support boards to the sides of the moulds and hold firmly together with the metal clamps.
4. Melt metal in the casting ladle. Use a worn match to check that the metal is at the correct temperature. If the match smokes lightly when placed in the metal it means that it is ready to pour.
5. Pour carefully into the mould holes and tap lightly to settle metal.
6. When cool (5 minutes), open the mould and bend the mould away from the figure to remove it.
7. Clip away any excess metal off the figure and base, file to keep base flat. Polish with a wire brush.
8. Your figure is ready to paint. We advise undercoating it first and varnishing it when finished painting to protect it.

Any orders or questions sent in will be dealt with the next work day. Shipping in European Union can take up to 21 days. Most packages arrive within 7 work days however. If you have not chosen to insure the package we cannot track it and will not be held responsible for any delay or loss through the postal system. We always recommend adding insurance to any order.

COMBINED POSTAGE: We will gladly combine postage for moulds and accessories, please contact us for a quote, due to the weight of many of these items we need to know your postal destination and quantity wanted before offering discounts. However we normally would charge the full price on the most expensive postal item and 25% off the following items postage.

CHESS DISCOUNTS: Due to the weight involved with getting large quantities of metal we have special discounts. Get 20 bars of metal (either type) and we will cut the shipping costs on the molds you get by half price (50%) plus FREE insurance. We supply a special metal quantity of 20 bars in my Ebay Shop.

Buy both sides of the chess molds, (example: Richard the Lionheart AND Saladin sides for the CRUSADES set) and I will reduce shipping on the second set of molds by 50%. If you get the 20 bars of metal too I will offer FREE post on the second set of chess molds. Any questions? Please ask me before bidding to avoid confusion.

RETURNS: In the unlikely event that you wish to return a product to us, we will give a refund if the item differs significantly from what was listed at time of sale and is returned unused within 14 days of receipt (international buyers please contact us first). All our items are sealed and in mint condition when posted out and are well packed so they should arrive the same way.

DISPUTES: We will expect payment within 7 (seven) days of winning the auction. If we are not contacted by the buyer within 7 days we will file a unpaid claim with ebay. If payment is delayed PLEASE contact us first and tell us what the problem is. We will try to assist. Postage is NOT Negotiable after winning or buying items. CASTING WARNING: Metal casting is NOT a toy. Prince August Model Metal & Standard Metal contain lead and are recommended for children over 14 years. Adult supervision is needed. Protect worktops from hot metal by covering then with a newspaper or a sheet of hard board. Any spilled metal can be removed after it cooled down. Do not cool down the metal or mould with water. Explosion Risk!. Moulds and metal taken from cold storage should be allowed to warm up before use by leaving them in a warm room. Safety tested under En71.
