Presidential Yacht Barbara Anne Defoe 1955 Ad

Originally built by Defoe in 1931 for Sewell Avery, Montgomery Ward, Chairman of the Board. He named the boat "Lenore". In August 1942 she was put into Coast Guard service as CG-92004. Under Harry Truman she was used as a tender for the "Williamsburg and named "Lenore II". Under Dwight Eisenhower she was renamed "Barbara Anne". JFK renamed her "Honey Fitz (named for his maternal grandfather). Lyndon Johnson kept the name "Honey Fitz". Richard Nixon changed her name to "Patricia" for his daughter. In 1970 Joe Keating had the yacht re-conditioned and restored to its state while in the service of the Kennedy's, she was then named "Presidents".
