If you want fabulous flavour and strong aromas from your food, you need to grind your own herbs and spices before they are added to the recipe. Too good-looking to be hidden away in a cupboard , this large size Thai granite mortar and pestle set by Premier® will easily reduce fibrous herbs and hard seeds in no time. The mortar has a natural rough-hewn exterior, which has been lacquered to show off the beautiful granite at its best. The mortar's interior is ground smooth and un-lacquered to partner the pestle. The pestle end and interior surface of the mortar are both polished smooth, so it will not absorb odours from the ingredients being prepared. Very dense and heavy, this set does not chip and will last for many years, even when subjected to vigorous pounding. The mortar & pestle set is machine cut from solid granite rock and carefully carved by hand.

Care & use
To steady a heavy mortar, place a tea towel under the mortar so it doesn't slip and scratch your kitchen counter worktop. Wash in soapy water, rinse and dry.
