You are bidding on an original prehistoric artefact. I started my bid a little higher than usual because of the rarity of this item. I am originally from New York City and lived in Puerto Rico for three years. I have met many people with beautiful private Taino collections and believe me that they will not sell you not even one item. For those people that i've encountered that were willing to sell, for a cemi like the one I have listed on ebay, they were asking $1,500. no less. Yes, you can find tainos artefacts on ebay for much less ($30.-$40) but i will tell you that 99 percent are replicas. Unless you are an expert in this field you will not know the difference between an original and a replica. I can tell you this from experience (don't be fooled). I have scanned photographs of my artefacts in different positions (front, back, side,etc.) so that you can inspect them and see that they are authentic.
