Precolombian  type  Native American Bird whistle jug.

A CHEEKEY WEE CHAPPIE

A great collectable, another one of the  many strange things I have collected over the years.

I do not remember how it came to be in my collection but it was probably purchased at  auction a number of years ago.

Anyway make up your own mind about it please! It looks old, and  is obviously from the Americas, I would guess possibly one of the Indian tribes of Peru.

It measures eight inches high and is made from very hard fired clay, the exterior looks to have a patchy brown/black glaze or finish but this could just be natural pigmentation caused by people handling this very tactile piece  over many years.

Cup your lips over the top and blow, for an ear piercing whistle.

Certainly a nice decorative little conversation piece and worth a bid for someone willing to do a bit more research into its origin and age.
